Vaccination awareness camps launched across Tamulpur, focus on children and expectant mothers
Week-long drive to cover villages across the district
A vaccination awareness drive began in Tamulpur's villages this week, with a particular focus on the health of children and expectant mothers. The camps are being run jointly by the health department and ASHA workers.
"In some villages there's still hesitation among parents about vaccination. We're going door to door explaining why it matters," an ASHA worker said.
"This camp gave me my child's complete vaccination schedule — it's been a big help," one new mother who attended said.
The health department says more than three hundred children and two hundred expectant mothers were screened in the first two days alone.
The camp will run for six more days and cover at least one village in every block of the district, officials said.
