Bodoland's youth music festival returns with an all-district line-up
Three-day event brings bands and solo artists from four districts together
Bodoland's youth music festival is back this year, bringing together artists from Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri for a three-day celebration of music old and new.
A spokesperson for the organising committee said the stage is meant to hold space for everyone, "from traditional Bodo songs and instruments to modern fusion music. This is a huge opportunity for our young talent to showcase their work."
The opening day's line-up ranges from performances on the traditional sifung and kham instruments to modern guitar-driven bands. Organisers say around twenty-five acts have already registered.
The festival grounds will also host stalls selling local food and handicrafts, giving the whole event the feel of a fair. Many young attendees plan to come with friends to make a day of it.
The three-day festival will close with a joint performance bringing representative groups from all four districts onto the stage together. The BTAD administration has provided a cultural grant for the event.
