New skill-training centre opens in Udalguri, teaching electrical work and mobile repair
Fifty young trainees enrolled in the first batch
A newly established skill-training centre in Udalguri town has begun teaching young people electrical work and mobile phone repair. Fifty trainees have enrolled in the first batch.
"Many young people from our area have had to go elsewhere looking for work. If they can learn a solid skill right here, they can start something in their own village," the centre's director said.
"I finished class twelve and didn't know what to do next. Now, with training in electrical work, I feel hopeful about my future," one trainee said.
At the end of the two-month course, trainees will receive a government-recognised certificate and be connected with local businesses for placement.
The district administration is supporting the centre with infrastructure, and plans to add tailoring and computer-training tracks next year.
